BITTERSWEET FW26/27
The Fall/Winter 2026/27 collection, created amid war, uncertainty, and collapse, reflecting the reality of designing from Lebanon. Exploring the tension between bitterness and sweetness, the collection confronts grief, fear, displacement, and the fragile hope that persists through hardship.
It questions what it means to survive, create, and preserve identity and land while living between collapse and hope.
Through Levantine straight stitch embroidery, patchwork, and color blocking, Bittersweet translates fragmentation, remembrance, and reconstruction into wearable narratives. Its earthy, dark, and ash-toned palette draws from Beirut’s raw visual language, with inspirations ranging from cigarette smoke, coffee rituals, olives, and rusted architecture to tattoos, shadows, and dreams.
Poppy flowers blooming across South Lebanon symbolize remembrance, fragility, and beauty persisting through destruction.
Continuing amer’s approach of confronting reality without romanticizing it, Bittersweet is a reflection on emotional survival, cultural preservation, and holding onto roots in the face of disappearance.
A collection about living within bitterness while still making space for softness, identity, and hope.
